Water has long been used as a medium for exercise both recreationally and to improve general fitness. Since the exercise boom in the late 1970's water based non-swimming activities have developed and increased in popularity.
We have water based aerobic classes where you can have a low impact workout in the relaxing comfort of water where the weightlessness reduces compression, stress on weight bearing joints and almost eliminates the risk of injury.
A person does not need to know how to swim in order to take advantage of water aerobic exercises, this in turn enables the person to be able to concentrate on his or her routine.
